Bear'lin

Berlin was awesome! The whole weekend felt like a real life history channel marathon...in a good way. Here's Paris Square:
We did a 3 hour walking tour of the city. In the rain. In 40-something degree weather. Brr. But it was the best way to see the city, and we all survived.

Here's the start of the Berlin Wall's East Side Gallery:

That picture came out kinda weird...it was pouring rain though. Here's my favorite picture from the trip:

It reads: "David Hasselhoff saved the world from communism"

Opéra Garnier

The program gave away tickets to see The Rake’s Progress at L’Opéra Garnier. It was the most beautiful theater I’ve ever seen. We had balcony seats up on the third floor, so we had a great view of the massive chandelier in the center of the theater. Everything was ornately decorated and its crazy to think how long its been that way (since 1875)!

Here’s a question of the ages: If you notice in the picture, a few of the light bulbs on the chandelier and around the edge of the ceiling are burned out...how many people would it take to change those bulbs?!

I Lo(u)v(r)e Paris

I finally made it over to the Louvre. Its even bigger than I thought it would be... it NEVER ENDS! I tried not to take pictures of the art, they’re too easy to Google and get better quality versions than the ones I’d be able to take. But this one slipped in:

Signs

One of the biggest differences that effects everyday life, I'd have to say, is the differences in signs- public transportation, street signs, warning signs, etc. Some are only little differences, but some are HUGE!

For example street signs: they aren't posted on curb corners, they are little plaques on the corner of buildings. Problems with this, not all buildings are available to be posted on, so there are no signs at some corners. Also, you have to walk right up to it to read it, so from far away you can't tell you are going in the wrong direction until its too late.

Here's a picture of a no parking sign on the Seine...I thought it was funny to see traffic signals on a water way. Yeah, I'm from Texas.

This one is, hands down, my favorite sign EVER! I don't know why, but every time I see it I can't help but laugh.

Working on it...

Eventually I'll get something here. I promise :)

In the meantime, here's what I get to look at EVERY DAY!
